“Shanon Scott has reinvented Roma’s dinners via Zoom,” writes Dale Robertson for the Houston Chronicle.
Here’s what the esteemed wine writer had to say about the ongoing series of weekly virtual wine dinners at ROMA:
Another veteran Houston restaurateur, Shanon Scott, who owns Roma in Rice Village, began reinventing the [virtual wine dinner] wheel himself early in the pandemic. Partnering with his marketing guru, Jeremy Parzen, to host Zoom dinners every Thursday night, he has been drawing as many as 70 “guests,” or twice what he could have managed using the old-fashioned format of folks crowded in elbow to elbow…
“(The tasting dinners) have turned into one big, long party,” he said. “They’re telling me they can’t wait to actually meet each other in person at the restaurant when all this is over.”
