You might be wondering why a photo of a ladybug accompanies this post. It was taken recently at the Frecciarossa winery not far from Milan, Italy, where organic farming practices help to foster biodiversity in the vineyards. Where winemakers once complained that pests were making their work more difficult, today they welcome the little critters and the biodiversity they bring. It makes for better quality wine, they believe.

This Thursday at our weekly virtual wine dinner, we will be welcoming grape grower and winemaker Cristiano Garella, a twenty-something wine world phenomenon who has become one of the industry’s brightest stars. He’ll be presenting the wines of Frecciarossa, Italy’s top producer of Pinot Noir. And for the occasion, we’ll be including the estate’s legendary “white Pinot Noir,” made from red Pinot Noir grapes that have been fermented “off their skins.”

These extremely compelling wines don’t come cheap. We have worked closely with the importer to make this event possible. It’s probably our most value-driven wine menu to date. Space is very limited. Please reserve at your earliest convenience to ensure availability.
