In the photo above, you see the road sign for the village of Volpaia, “617 slm.”

The acronym “slm” stands for sul livello mare, in other words, meters above sea level.

On Thursday, March 17, Federica Stianti, winemaker and owner of the famed Castello di Volpaia winery in the heart of Chianti Classico, will share the secrets of her family’s celebrated “mountain wines,” some of the highest-altitude wines in Tuscany.

It’s our first in-person winemaker dinner since November of last year and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be welcoming Federica, whom some of you will remember from her wonderful virtual dinner we did back in 2020. She is awesome btw.

We look forward to sharing these wines and Chef Kevin’s classic Tuscan menu with you (see below).
